The original Renaissance fortress was rebuilt into a Baroque four-winged castle at the beginning of the 18th century under Princess Theresa of Liechtenstein. In the first half of the 19th century, the chateau acquired its current Classicist appearance. An important stage in the history of the chateau in Čechá pod Kosířem does not occur until the arrival of the Portuguese Silva-Tarouc family, who held the chateau from 1768 to 1945. The chateau became a popular place for the important Czech painter Josef Mánes in 1849-1871. over a hundred works of art. The adjacent castle park, covering an area of ​​21.5 hectares, is one of the most valuable romantic landscaping projects in the Czech Republic.

After an extensive reconstruction, it is possible to rent an orangery and a small hall in the chateau complex.
